I resolved it by installing gradle sudo apt-get install gradle Gradle was automatically added to the PATH and the various ionic build commands worked without a hitch. I’ve recently had to install Gradle on a fresh Mac and decided to use Homebrew, as this is the package manager I use most of the time. By quickly typing brew install gradle the latest Gradle. There are two solutions mentioned in that post, 1) using homebrew 2) installing the normal Gradle package. The first is a mac solution (that didnt go so well) so I ended up doing #2. Although if you're on a mac this is probably the best way to do it, it is totally do-able.
Write in Java, C++, Python or your language of choice. Package for deployment on any platform. Go monorepo or multi-repo. And rely on Gradle's unparalleled versatility to build it all.

There is a lot of buzz around continuous delivery and deployment and I think Gradle is instrumental on the development side, on the micro level, and the day-to-day on how we can eliminate the deficiencies in the system.
Keep up the great work. Gradle is one of my very favorite tools, and finding a developer who doesn't yet use Gradle is like finding a movie fan who hasn't yet seen The Godfather—'Oh my God! Stop everything and watch this!'
